We had a two days with two different sets of clients last week. The man from Alabama, repeat client, Kim Kornegay and his friend John Maltry joined us for a day of offshore hunting at Isla Ladrones and also a couple of Brazilian businessmen, Mauricio and Jack, flew in from Panama City for a day charter as well.
I had intentions of heading offshore to chase the big Tunas that are still holding at Hannibal Bank and Isla Montuosa but the monster swell and foul weather that we are having right now would of made for a pretty uncomfortable ride out and the clients wanted to stay close. We decided to stay inshore and fish Isla Ladrones which is only a short thirteen mile run from the lodge. My mate and I loaded up with four dozen Blue Runners the day before the charters so we didn't have to kill time with the clients searching for the sometimes very elusive baitfish.
Both days we did real well out and around Isla Ladrones. Lots of bait holding on the high spots with plenty of activity. We got a nice variety of fish with a couple of nice Cuberas and some Big Amberjacks. Cool to see the same pack of Humpback Whales holding around Ladrones for the past couple of weeks with their baby. Inshore near the lodge we also got a Rooster for Dr. Kornegay at the last minute! Enjoy the pics...
